Things have been pretty quiet on this front over the past few weeks as I have immersed myself in a number of projects and Real Life Things (TM) that have taken up my time. I also took a week out for vacation, which was wonderful and refreshing and allowed me to complete a first draft of a story I was working on.
Looking ahead, I wanted to provide a look at some things I’ve been working and what to expect in the months to come. I also wanted to mention that there was a period of time where some of this content was featured on the core Vox Theory site, but it no longer makes sense to separate them. As such, I will be moving content to here over time and shutting that page down.
I had published issue number 6 in installments earlier this year, but I am taking the series back to its monthly roots. Not only that, but I will be re-releasing the first five installments with some additional edits and – gasp – actual covers. Since Obscura Rhapsody is a creative exercise for me, I wanted to try and work on some Photoshop-esque skills and craft covers for the installments. It will be an ongoing experiment and hopefully you will dig it.
Issue 6 will be released alongside the updates of the others in the next couple of weeks, and issue 7 launches in August. At that time Obscura Rhapsody will resume its monthly schedule. More details to come.
You may recall my electronic music side project, Emotionless ATMs. I put out an EP, Fear of Ghosts, a few years ago on Soundcloud. Over the past year or so I have been working on a second one. I’m happy to say that the next EP is almost ready, and hopefully will drop over the next several weeks. It will be a 6-track affair called BABELgroove and will include a track with vocals (written but not performed by me). More details forthcoming.
Godsblade is a web-based text / loot / adventure game I created. I had originally thought about leaving the game as “finished” at version 1.1.1, I have since decided to revisit the game and iterate on it further. I am currently working on a 1.1.2 update (which contains quality of life fixes) as well as planning a content update in 1.2. More details forthcoming.
The Fringe Rewatch
“There was an attempt” at a Fringe Rewatch. I worked with John S. Drew on several installments before it petered out. I am planning on bringing this back and working on it solo, at least to finish Season 1 (but hopefully continue beyond). I will be re-publishing these on this site before launching into the new installments. I’ll be posting more about that soon.
Outside of the above, I have been working on original fiction (either pitching or drafting), have a fan audio drama that is scripted and awaiting production (damn you, COVID!) and probably something else I can’t recall at the moment.
I plan to continue to share music, obscure media and other curio as well.
Thanks as always for reading.
